| FIT AND FORGET DRIVE
FOR TOUGH DUTIES
October 2004
New
from Silverteam is a range of drives sealed to IP54 and featuring
an integrated Class B EMC filter, providing an out-of-the-box
inverter solution for HVAC, building services, food and drink,
and water treatment applications, as well as many other general
purpose industrial tasks.
Available
in powers from 0.4kW to 132kW, the Hitachi L100IP and L300IP combine
ease of use with high levels of functionality, and offer a number
of modular options to allow the products to be tailored to the
requirements of the application.
Silverteam
is Hitachi’s sole agent for drives and automation products
in the UK. Managing Director Stuart Harvey comments: “The
likes of building services and water treatment applications are
big potential markets, but they place particular requirements
of drives in terms of environmental protection and expected simplicity
of installation and set up. With the L100IP and L300IP, you can
take the drive straight out of the box, bolt it to the wall, add
the mains supply and motor cables, and away you go.”
The
L100IP is available in powers from 0.4kW to 2.2kW for 200V single-phase
supplies, and in powers from 0.7kW to 7.5kW for 400V three-phase
supplies. The L300IP extends powers to 132kW for 400V three-phase
supplies. Both provide advanced features such as motor synchronisation,
PID control, automatic energy saving and user macro functions.
A
user-friendly, integrated display makes it simple to adjust parameters
on the fly, whilst the in-built RS422/485 communications interface
allows a standard PC to be connected for set-up and commissioning
in Windows-based programming software.
The
RS422/485 interfaces also allow ready connection to a PLC or other
control equipment, whilst fieldbus interfaces for Profibus, LonWorks,
DeviceNet and others are available as modular options. Further
options include a harmonic line reactor, and an embedded PLC board
which turns the drive into a powerful, single box, control system.
The
L100IP and L300IP conform to a range of global standards, including
CE, UL, c-UL and CTick, allowing their use anywhere in the world. |
